Dr. Isildinha Reis

Biostatistics

Dr. Reis earned her master’s degree in statistics from the University of São Paulo, Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, in 1989 and her PhD in biostatistics in 1996 from the University of California at Los Angeles’ School of Public Health. Dr. Reis joined the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center in 1999 as Research Assistant Professor in the former Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and was promoted to Research Associate Professor in 2006. Dr. Reis served as director of the Biostatistics Division of the Sylvester Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core Shared Resource from 2012 to 2015. Dr. Reis has an extensive experience in the design and analysis of clinical trials, basic-science/translational investigations, and epidemiologic studies related to cancer. She has collaborated in the development of the statistical section of JCWO´s ConvitVax clinical protocol, establishing the number of patients necessary for each phase of the study, the hypotheses, among others.
